Gallaher Group Plc
When you operate on a global scale, selling products that can provoke strong opinion, and have to deal with ever changing legislation in your sector, it’s natural that your business will be scrutinised from all angles on a daily basis.
So how do you keep your audience happy while effectively communicating your investment proposition?
Given the challenge facing FTSE100 and leading tobacco company Gallaher Group Plc, it is no surprise that the internet has become an integral part of their corporate and investor relations communication strategy.
We began working with the corporate communications team back in 1998 with a phased approach to the redesign of their corporate site. Once the initial redesign had been completed, we integrated an investor relations section into the site, providing consultancy on the appropriate content requirements and using our technical expertise to ensure the site met best practice guidelines, accessibility compliance and had a clear logical structure.
Our relationship with the company, now in its eighth year, continues to grow from strength to strength. Since the website redesign and subsequent recognition for ‘Most Improved Website’ and Grand Prix award at the IRS IR Best Practice Awards, we have implemented a host of new features, including web and audio casts, management interviews, HTML results and CSR reporting, and mobile SMS financial alerts.
Each year we create an annual programme for their online corporate communication which is integrated with their offline activity to provide maximum communications impact. This allows the company to reach all their important stakeholder groups in a controlled and manageable way.
Regardless of who is keeping a close eye on your company, Gallaher Group Plc has successfully proved you can satisfy all interested parties by balancing the use of innovative technology with a transparent and well structured approach to online corporate communication.
