Issue Two
Welcome to the christmas edition of 'The Hub', the newsletter from the twentysix London Corporate team!
This month we see how new IPOs fair online with investors, help you understand the requirements of the Companies Act 2006, look at the market forces that have driven smaller caps to source independent sponsored research and discuss why there's only one winner in the consultative vs. off-the-shelf approach to online IR and corporate communications services.
Have a very happy christmas and a great 2007!

The Companies Act 2006 - What will it mean for you?
After much debate and painfully slow progress, the Companies Bill has finally received Royal Assent. Although implementation of most provisions will not happen until October 2008, we now have a clearer picture of the changes the new Companies Act 2006 will introduce and what they will mean for companies.

Let's answer the question first, and explain it later.
Shareholders, as the collective name implies, participate in the fruits of corporate success: profits redistributed via dividends, or reinvested into the business to achieve further growth and an enhanced capital value. Equity shareholders also risk the downside of a deteriorating corporate performance and can, on occasion, be expected to be the financiers to 'their own' company.

It should be such a straight forward process, but it is staggering how often listed companies fail to provide their shareholders and other interested parties with the corporate information that they need. Websites might look slick – but poke about a bit and you find holes as deep as the Marianas Trench.
